About Boru Jewlary
Warriors like Chu Chulaunn, Fionn Mac Cumhail and also Queen Maeve are inspirational heroes from our past who influence our songs and stories even today. Carrying shields richly decorated with Celtic symbol and design they represent courage as well as fearlessness.
One of Ireland’s foremost treasures, the Ardagh Chalice inspires The
Celtic Warrior Collection. In 1868 it was found in Ardagh, County Limerick by two men digging potatoes. This 8th century piece is Ireland’s most prized artefact and is held in the National Museum of Ireland. It is widely recognised as one of, if not THE, most important pieces of Celtic art found. A girdle of ten filigree panels of animal design, interlacing and shield decoration surrounds the neck of the chalice. The chalice - made of silver and also decorated with 354 pieces of gold, brass, lead pewter, copper, gilt bronze and enamel beading.
There are great examples of fine filigree gold work on this piece. It is from these ornate designs that Boru has created their much loved as well as unique Celtic Warrior Collections and is what forms the basis of the intricate designs featured on each piece. The gold filigree band on the Ardagh Chalice, featuring shield decorations, forms the basis of the intricate designs featured on each piece of our Celtic Warrior Collection.
Skilled goldsmiths make our Celtic Warrior Collection in our Dublin workshop to the highest standard.
A classic design, It has become one of our most popular ranges across the world and is timeless. Each piece, presented in its own Warrior Collection presentation packaging and is also accompanied by a story card.
Our newest addition to our Celtic Warrior Collection, the Swiss Blue. A new dimension - Swiss Blue - evoking images of the wind, sky and water and the colour of calm as well as peace. The gemstone of communication, often called 'the writers' stone, it is associated with loyalty and love, representing eternal romance and also friendship.
Handcrafted by Irish goldsmiths and also assayed at Dublin Castle.
